ＷＢＣ日本世界一 野球はやっぱり面白い
ＡＬＬＪＡＰＡＮ世界一！王監督の体が３度宙に舞い、日本のまさにベストメンバー３０人が栄冠を勝ち取った。
試合はスリリングだったが、日本の野球は素晴らしく、特に決勝戦の９回の西岡、イチローの攻撃は日本の強さを十分に見せ付ける攻撃だった。
救援の藤田が２ランを打たれ６−５。流れが完全にキューバペースの中、９回の表に得点を上げることこそがこの試合を決める全てだった。
その中で西岡は創造性と技術を駆使した絶妙のプッシュバントでキューバの守備の裏を完全にかく。
ノーアウト１，２塁で打席に立ったイチローは、この打席こそがこの大会の集大成で彼が日本チームにいる意味を見事に体現してみせた。
もちろんヒットが打てれば良いが、最低でも塁を進める１，２塁間に引っ張るというバッティングをイメージしていたのは想像がつく。
そして川崎。走塁でここまで胸を熱くさせるプレーは滅多に見られない。
イチローのライト前ヒットで２塁から迷うことなく３塁を廻り、返球とキャッチャーの体制を見て瞬時に左手ではアウトになると感じた川崎は、ブロックしようとして外側に開いていくキャッチャーの膝の隙間を見逃さず、一瞬にして右手を差し込みベースを撫ぜた。
一歩間違えば大怪我につながるギリギリのプレーだったが、まさに強い心と類稀な技術力、そして強靭な体、「心・技・体」一つになった素晴らしいプレーだった。
これだけのプレーを見せてくれた真の日本代表に感謝。そしておめでとう。
